Florence + The Machine - The Dogs Days are Over (2009 Music Video)

Florence and the Machine are an English indie rock band that formed in 2007. ' The Dogs days are over' is from her 2009 album titled 'Lungs'. 

By the videos rustic and vintage setting,it sits in well with my chosen genre; unlike other music videos of 2009, it didn't focus on looking modern, but instead original that goes along well with the way the music has been presented. It also, doesn't show woman in a sexual light, as was starting on becoming usual for 2009, the video changed it focus on presenting the woman powerfully and independent.

Also the lyrics are calm and relaxing, instead of fast paced like within popular music or other genres. It goes along well with the genre of Indie music because even though some of the lyrics aren't necessarily understandable at first, the meaning of them is still really clear.

Bastille - Of the Night (Music Video)

Bastille are an English indie pop band formed in 2010. 'Of the Night' came out in 2013 as part of their lasted album: 'All This Bad Blood' that was released November the same year.

The Music videos up beat tempo and original style displays another side of the genre in indie music, it shows that it can still use reality as an influence for their music, even if the finished product seems far from it. It still differs as the story doesn't really follow a typical route of a love or break up story.

I believe that  this shows that the inspiration for music can come from the places you least aspect, and as being and independent artist, it's those sorts of inspiration that can make your music much more interesting to your audience.

Coldplay - Adventure of a Lifetime (Music Video)

Coldplay are a British indie rock band that formed in 1996. 'Adventures of A Lifetime' is the first single to be taken from Coldplay's new album, 'A Head Full Of Dreams' which has been released in 2015.

The song has been a great hit, by using an alternative method of animals instead of humans to help represent the feeling of a new start, especially alongside the new year.

What has also worked in their favour in terms of popularity, is that even being quite a successful and poplar band, they still don't really conform to what is perceived as a normal music video.

What many people find in a lot of their videos and song lyrics is to live the life you have the best you can, while you can, which can help to add to their success.
